It occurred to me that some of you reading the Land forum don't know me from Adam's housecat. Here's a summary about Ecstasy Realty and I:
I've been in SL for 22 months. I"ve owned a nightclub, 3 malls and now Ecstasy Realty (ER). I enjoy the land biz the most. ER is my full-time job, so I'm quite fortunate. I'm 48 years old in RL and have a great son. I"m in the USA.
I'm very old school about doing the land biz. My ethics may cost me
revenue short-term, but my reputation for being a fair and ethical
businessman is worth everything. I won't ever lie to you about
anything, even if it costs me money. You have the right to ask
questions before you fork over your lindens/USD/euros. You have the
right to feel safe in spending your money that the land guy isn't going
to disappear or screw you over. IF (and that's a huge if) you ever lose
money because of me, it will be because I'm dead or in the hospital.
Otherwise, you will NEVER lose money because of me.
When you look for my land in the Land Sales search results, you will probably never find it on the first page. Why ? Because I think prices per square meter below L$1 in the results are misleading. You can barely pay your tier at L$1.2 per square meter, much less make a profit. Prices of zero are completely misleading.
When you read my "ad copy", you will probably notice it's pretty low-key in general. I'm all about "no bullshit", pardon my french. You may not rent my land, but at least you will respect me. Imagine that, respect being more important than money.
For example, if you ask me if a mixed commercial and residential sim will have no lag, I'm going to tell you no, there will be lag. I will try to keep it as low as possible, but that's the nature of the beast with malls and clubs, etc.
Who knows, I may go broke in the land biz for having my principles. But
no one will ever say I screwed them over or lied to them or misled
them. No one. You can take that statement to the bank.
